IFRS Foundation Announces New Appointments to Its Interpretations Committee, Effective July 1, 2015

Jongsoo Han and Robert Uhl have both been appointed for a three-year term kicking off on 01 July 2015. The trustees of the IFRS Foundation, responsible for the governance and oversight of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), have appointed a brace of new members to the body's interpretations committee and reappointed a pair of current members for a second term. Jongsoo Han, a board member of the Korea Accounting Standards Board (KASB) and vice president of the Korea Accounting Association, together with Robert Uhl, a US-based partner and national director of Accounting Standards and Communications at Deloitte in the US, have both been appointed for a three-year term, kicking off on 1 July 2015.

The IFRS Foundation announced interim appointments to the IFRS Interpretations Committee and the IFRS Advisory Council. Robert Uhl, a Partner and National Director for Accounting Standards & Communications at Deloitte in the United States, has been appointed to the IFRS Interpretations Committee with immediate effect. Mr. Uhl's appointment follows the departure of Laurence Rivat and is therefore made in an interim capacity until 30 June 2015. Roger Marshall, Acting President of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) and non-executive Chairman of the Accounting Council of the United Kingdom Financial Reporting Council, has been appointed to represent EFRAG on the IFRS Advisory Council with effect from 1 January 2015.

The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation announced the appointment of Maarika Paul to the IFRS Advisory Council. Paul serves as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of the Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec. Paul's appointment will commence with immediate effect.
