JumpStart Inc. and Rev1 Ventures have joined together to announce their new investments in Milo Biotechnology, a startup working to reverse Muscular Dystrophy using gene therapy. The specific terms of the investments are not being released publicly, but they come from JumpStart's Evergreen Fund and Rev1's Catalyst Fund, respectively. JumpStart and Rev1 are both leaders in the region, who are dedicated to fueling startup growth in Ohio. Both companies are partners of the Ohio Third Frontier's Entrepreneurial Signature Program (ESP), which provides entrepreneurs with private and public funding as well as assistance they need to grow their technology-based startup companies.

Adam R. Kaufman has joined JumpStart Inc. as a strategic advisor focused initially on broadening the economic development organization’s reach to individuals, in Northeast Ohio and across the country. In this new position, Kaufman will forge relationships with entrepreneurial and business executives and leaders interested in JumpStart’s work with startup and scaleup business owners and help those individuals engage further in relevant investing, mentoring, philanthropic and leadership opportunities available in the community. Adam will work hand-in-hand with JumpStart’s team and Chief Executive Officer Ray Leach to develop a plan that will allow for more individual involvement in the organization’s inclusive approach to unlocking entrepreneurial potential and growth in the community. Kaufman’s diverse background includes successful leadership roles in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. A former Cleveland chapter president of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), Adam recently chaired a major EO global conference for entrepreneurs. For more than 10 years, he served as president and co-president of Healthnetwork Foundation and successfully led a fast-growth. Kaufman currently advises several fast growth companies and remains active in philanthropy and civic circles. He is the founder of Up2 and he serves on the board of Biltmore Trust Company in South Dakota and is an advisor with an Ohio-based multi-family office.
