Scottish Widows Group Limited Key Developments

Lloyds Reportedly Seeks Acquisitions

Lloyds Banking Group plc (LSE:LLOY) is preparing to launch a string of deals at Scottish Widows Group Limited. Lloyds has in recent weeks has been seeking advise from investment banks to advise on acquisition targets for Scottish Widows. Bankers will work alongside McKinsey, the management consultant, on identifying assets in the corporate pensions and bulk annuities sectors. Lloyds will invest hundreds of millions of pounds as it seeks to expand its market share in areas beyond its core high street retail and business banking services. People close to Lloyds said its plans should dampen lingering speculation that the bank might be interested in pursuing a long-rumoured sale of its insurance arm. "We are looking at how we continue to focus on growing our insurance business where we believe we have competitive advantage through our sector expertise and scale. We have no plans to review our Insurance business more broadly or to consider divestment.", a Lloyds spokesman told Sky News.

Scottish Widows Launches Digital Tool for Workplace Saving

Lloyds Banking Group announced that its subsidiary Scottish Widows has introduced a new digital tool that provides employers with key data on employees retirement saving habits and attitudes. The Scottish Widows online database, Employees Like Mine, is an interactive information hub designed to help employers and advisers understand the views of workers in similar organizations and industries on savings, as well as expectations of support from their employers. Employees Like Mine includes opinions from employees across a range of sectors to provide a clearer understanding on auto-enrolment, employees' ideal retirement age and impetus for increased saving.
