Cook has been appointed as the deputy assistant to the secretary of defense (press secretary), Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs in the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. Cook previously served as the chief Washington correspondent for Bloomberg Television in Washington, District of Columbia. Susan A. Yarwood has been assigned as the deputy director, Washington Headquarters Services, Washington, District of Columbia. American Science and Engineering received a subpoena from the Office of the Inspector General of the U.S. General Services Administration. In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing American Science and Engineering said the subpoena relates to an investigation by the GSA and the Department of Defense of its compliance with the terms and conditions of contractual arrangements with the GSA. American Science and Engineering says it plans to fully cooperate with the investigation and that its unable to predict the outcome. It also warned it will incur legal costs and other costs, damages or penalties depending on the outcome of the investigation.
United States Department of Defense Provides $18.5 Million in New Funding to Expand Nanocomp Technologies' Nanomanufacturing Production Capacity

Nanocomp Technologies, Inc. announced it has been awarded $18.5 million from United States Department Of Defense in additional funding under the Defense Production Act Title III program to supply CNT yarn, sheet, tape, and slurry materials for the program needs of the Department of Defense, as well as for commercial industrial markets. Initial funding of $2.2 million was provided by DPA Title III in 2011, along with substantial company investments, enabling Nanocomp to construct a 30,000 square foot Pilot Plant, and relocate its headquarters to Merrimack, NH.
