The American Beverage Association (ABA) announced the election of Rodger L. Collins, president of packaged beverages for Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, as chair of its board of directors, as well as other officers to the Board. Mr. Collins, who previously served as Vice Chair, succeeds Claude B. Nielsen, chairman and chief executive officer of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United Inc. The Board also elected Jeffrey Honickman, chief executive officer for Pepsi-Cola & National Brand Beverages Ltd., as Vice Chair.

The American Beverage Association announced the election of five members to its Board of Directors. The member elected for a first term is Steve Ford, CEO of LinPepCo Partnership. The members elected to serve for a second term are: Jerry Fowden, CEO of Cott Corporation; Seth Goldman, president and TeaEO of Honest Tea; Andrew Moore, co-president of Bigfoot Beverages; and Anthony Varni, president and CEO of Varni Brothers Corporation.

American Beverage Association named William M. Dermody Jr. as vice president of policy for the association. Dermody joins ABA from USA Today, where he most recently served as deputy managing editor for world news. As vice president of policy for ABA, Dermody will be responsible for managing issues and developing policy on a range of topics, including environmental sustainability, health, science and taxes.
