Edmentum announced the release of 2,600 new technology-enhanced item types for the 2015-16 school year in math and ELA. Study Island's technology-enhanced item types are designed to promote higher-order thinking and inquiry to prepare students for more rigorous and interactive web-based exams. Study Island first introduced technology-enhanced items in 2013. Built using the Depth of Knowledge (DOK) guidelines and Bloom's Taxonomy, Study Island's item types ensure that each question is written to the appropriate level and students are exposed to the appropriate depth of content. To date, Study Island has released 4,000 new technology enhanced items, and this release brings the total to 6,600. In addition, Study Islandreleased three new item types for its benchmark assessments - multipart, video, drawing, and audio - bringing the total number of item types available in the program to fourteen.

Edmentum announced the expansion of its partnership with eDynamic Learning. As a result, Edmentum will now offer an additional 46 semesters of elective and career courses bringing their eDynamic library total to 70 semesters. This expansion includes courses in key subject areas including Forensic Science, Culinary Arts, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. In addition, all of Edmentum’s current elective course subscribers will receive access to the full eDynamic library included in their subscription. This partnership and growth of elective and career course offerings are a continuation of Edmentum’s strong commitment to providing learners with diverse choices and opportunities to explore subjects outside of the core curriculum.
Edmentum, Inc. Announces Executive Changes, Effective August 28, 2015

Edmentum, Inc. announced that Vin Riera will resign as president and chief executive officer to move to an executive position elsewhere; and that Rob Rueckl, the company’s chief financial officer, has been appointed as interim chief executive officer. Both transitions are effective August 28, 2015. The company’s board of directors has initiated a search process and intends to retain an executive search firm to identify a permanent replacement for Riera, who will also resign from the company’s board of directors. Rueckl has been the company’s Chief Financial Officer since January 2007.
