Telkom announced that it will spend IDR 1.8 trillion ($135 million) in 2015 in building 2,000 new telecommunications towers through a subsidiary, Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Indonesia, or Mitratel. The funding for the new towers will come from bank loans.

Telkomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) is planning to launch an initial public offering (IPO) in 2014 for its unit. Jakarta Globe reported citing a company official as saying that an IPO is possible in 2014 for PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) in a bid to raise fund for latter's expansion. Innovation and strategic portfolio Director at Telkom, Indra Utoyo said that the company is planning to pave way for the entry of its unit in the stock market through numerous options including an IPO or through backdoor listing. The official informed that Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte Ltd, holding 35% stake in Telkomsel, also has given a go ahead for the IPO. Indra Utoyo however, did not provide any other details about the IPO, but said that the firm would go for IPO after the sale of PT DayaMitra Telekomunikasi (Miratel).
