A.O. Smith Water Products Company Key Developments

A. O. Smith Adds Integrated Recirculating Pump to Condensing Tankless Model

A. O. Smith will launch a new condensing tankless water heater that features an integrated, powerful recirculation pump. Well suited for home with a high demand for hot water, the 540P tankless model integrates a recirculation pump to provide instant hot water in residential applications with dedicated recirculation lines. The pump is easily controlled with a simple user interface and multiple pump settings allow for customized operation to both meet hot water needs and maximize efficiency. Along with the recirculation pump, the 540P has an aquastat to govern water temperature and pump control built inside–an innovative design that simplifies installation for A. O. Smith contractors. The onboard computer modulates combustion to yield an impressive Energy Factor of 0.95 while meeting the strictest gas emissions standards. As part of the 199k BTU per hour condensing tankless family, the 540P model provides instant hot water while being environmentally friendly. Available for both propane and natural gas systems, the 540P is built with commercial-grade materials like marine-grade 316L stainless steel, giving it an 15-year warranty. A durable copper primary heat exchanger transfers 25 times more readily than stainless steel versions.
