Houston International Insurance Group Announces Resignation of Mark Rattner as Senior Vice President
Aug 25 16
Houston International Insurance Group announced that senior vice president Mark Rattner has handed in his resignation. Rattner headed up the group's professional lines division until he notified the company of his decision to leave earlier this week. Rattner joined HIIG at the end of 2010 when he was brought in to manage its subsidiary Imperium Insurance Company. The executive gained seniority within the group to become president of its professional lines division, which is thought to write around $50mn of business. But the relationship began much earlier at HCC, which was launched by Way in 1974 and built up to become an AA-rated global insurer with a market cap of over $4 billion before its founder left in 2007. Rattner worked at his father's underwriting agency Professional Indemnity Agency before it was acquired by HCC in 2003. Rattner worked with Way for three years before stepping down to manage his family's investments. He was then brought in to rejoin Way who founded HIIG in 2007. It is believed that Rattner is in discussions about his next role, however the executive could not be reached for comment.
