Student Transportation of America, Inc. Wins New Contract in Columbia, Missouri

Student Transportation, Inc. announced that Student Transportation of America, Inc. has been awarded a new contract with Columbia Public Schools in Columbia, Missouri. The initial three-year contract, with the option for additional renewal years, will commence in August 2015 and feature 212 brand new school vehicles, bringing in annual revenues exceeding $10 million. The contract award marks the company's first operations in Missouri; however, the company is extremely experienced and accustomed to successful, large-scale operations. STA currently operates similar size contracts in Omaha, Boise, Milwaukee and Los Angeles. Each of those customers has recommended STA for additional services in new markets. The new fleet of vehicles servicing the contract will feature several on-board cameras, GPS, and a Child Check-Mate system for added security of leaving no child alone on the vehicle. The company is also in discussions with the school district to make its innovative mobile application, SafeStop, available to parents. The app allows them to know exactly when the bus will arrive at their designated stop in the morning and afternoon and also arrival and departures at school. The app is designed for members to securely track the location of the school bus along its route to and from school. SafeStop even includes various information notices and alerts that can be sent directly to its members.

Student Transportation Inc. Brings New Propane Fleet to St. Paul Public Schools

Student Transportation Inc. announced that its subsidiary, Student Transportation of America, Inc. (STA), has been awarded a new five-year contract with St. Paul Public Schools in Minnesota and is currently hiring drivers for open positions. The $4 million annual contract, to begin next month, will feature 65 new, propane-powered vehicles and a refurbished facility located in St. Paul. The contract award also marks the expansion of the company's operations in Minnesota, where it currently operates over 100 vehicles for the East Carver School District in Chaska. The vehicles also feature on-board cameras, GPS, and Child Check-Mate systems for added security. The company also expects to debut their mobile app SafeStop(TM), during this school year. SafeStop(TM) is a mobile application that allows parents to securely track the location of their child's school bus along its route to and from school every day. The service also includes various information notices and alerts sent to its members.

Student Transportation of America, Inc. Wins New Five and a Half Year Contract with San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools

Student Transportation Inc. announced that Student Transportation of America, Inc. has been awarded a new five and a half year contract with San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS) in California. The $10 million annual contract was recently awarded, but will begin service in January 2015 as per the agreement with the County. The company will receive roughly half that amount in its fiscal 2015 year, which begins this coming July. The contract was recently awarded with the school district to change from the incumbent provider. STA will provide 133 new, ultra-low-emission vehicles and 31 propane autogas vehicles as well. The company also said that all major contracts that were part of the previously announced acquisition of assets of Atlantic Express of California completed in February have been extended. That acquisition of 425 vehicles and approximately $26 million in annualized revenues expanded existing service contracts with the Los Angeles Unified School District and added new contracts with the Long Beach Unified School District as well as many private and charter schools in Southern California.
