Lincoln Harris to Start Work on Second Capitol Towers Building in Southpark

Lincoln Harris plans to start work on the second 10-story office building at its Capitol Towers development in SouthPark. The north tower at Capitol Towers will mirror the south tower, which was completed in September and totals 240,000 square feet. The first Capitol Towers building is 60% leased, and Lincoln Harris has proposals out on all but one of the remaining floors, Harris says. In November, Albemarle Corp. signed a 47,060-square-foot lease at the building for its corporate headquarters. Lincoln Harris started work on the first phase of Capitol Towers in 2014, after purchasing 5.8 acres fronting Congress Street with capital partner Goldman Sachs. The first phase includes the south tower, a seven-story parking garage with ground-floor retail space and an 8,500-square-foot retail building. The second phase will include a development pad for another smaller building, between 7,500 and 8,500 square feet, that could be used for retail space or additional office space.

When complete, the towers will have a total 480,000 square feet of office space and 35,000 square feet of retail space.
