Mahindra Trucks and Buses Plans to Unveil Two New Heavy-Duty Trucks at the Auto Expo

Mahindra Trucks and Buses Ltd. plans to unveil two new heavy-duty trucks at the Auto Expo to be held in Delhi from 7-11 February. The new models, the TRACO 49 tractor trailer and the TRUXO 37 multi-axle truck, are the first of a more comprehensive range of new products the truck-maker plans to launch in coming years. While the TRACO 49 is designed for specific load applications such as containerised heavy-duty loads and over-dimensional cargo, the TRUXO 37 can be used in a range of load applications. Apart from these new products, the company will also showcase the TORRO 25 tipper featuring 9-speed transmission and bogie suspension. The company plans to INR 5 billion (USD 91 million) in developing new platforms and models. This includes INR 3 billion to be used towards development of a completely new platform for 8-12 tonne intermediate commercial vehicles (ICVs). The remaining INR 2 billion will be invested on strengthening the company's current product line-up of trucks and buses including the refurbishing of existing LCVs. The company also plans to launch a 37-tonne truck.
