6fusion USA, Inc. Key Developments

6fusion Launches Cost Matching Engine to Translate Enterprise Infrastructure Costs to Cloud Instance Costs

6fusion announced the availability of its Cost Matching Engine technology offering the first 'apples-to-apples' comparison between on-premise infrastructure costs and predicted cloud infrastructure pricing based on infrastructure configuration or actual resource consumption. The Cost Matching Engine is based on 6fusion's patented, single unit of measure, the Workload Allocation Cube (WAC [2]). With the WAC as the basis for comparisons, the Cost Matching Engine de-politicizes the IT investment process by using an industry standard unit of measure to provide an unbiased 'apples-to-apples' comparison, regardless of the underlying technology or vendors. It is the only tool that allows users a data-driven, economic view of workloads that support a business case for migration to the cloud. The Cost Matching Engine is designed for use by enterprise IT organizations who are planning investment in internal infrastructure projects, or are considering a move to cloud infrastructure, as well as system integrators and consultants who support those IT organizations.

6fusion Releases API for IT Infrastructure Consumption Standard

6fusion announced the release of its first public Application Programing Interface (API). The new API enables seamless integration with the 6fusion UC6 Platform creating new product and service opportunities for ecosystem partners based on the Workload Allocation Cube (WAC), the patented unit of measure for IT infrastructure consumption. 6fusion now provides independent software vendors (ISVs), cloud infrastructure suppliers, channel partners, and enterprise customers, with an open API to create and deliver new software applications and solutions that integrate with the UC6 Platform. The API accelerates the development and advancement of an organized market for IT infrastructure by broadening access to critical data that informs market price discovery, helps quantify supply and demand, and enables the transparency necessary to improve economic decision making around IT infrastructure investment planning. The API also enhances the value of IT financial management and decision support tools by enabling programmatic integration of WAC data into existing reporting processes and data models.

6fusion and CME Group Sign Definitive Agreement to Develop IaaS Commodity Exchange

6fusion and CME Group have signed a definitive agreement to develop and market an Infrastructure as a Service spot exchange that will list financial products based upon 6fusion's Workload Allocation Cube. The spot exchange will feature contracts using the WAC as the standard unit of measurement and be available for trading on an electronic platform using technology licensed from CME Group. 6fusion's UC6 software platform will be used to track fulfillment of physically delivered contracts traded on the spot exchange. The spot exchange beta is expected to launch later this year featuring a host of infrastructure buyers, sellers and partners.
