Elliott Management Corporation has acquire 6.7% stake in The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. (NYSE:IPG) for $570 million to put The Interpublic Group of Companies up for sale, according to a person familiar with the situation. Elliott stated, IPG's shares are undervalued and represent an attractive investment opportunity." Elliott said it wants to engage in a constructive dialogue with the IPG’s Board of Directors to maximize shareholder value. McCann Worldgroup, Inc. and Draftfcb, Inc. are gearing up to push the IPG on the auction block, hoping to attract IPG's larger competitors as buyers, a source familiar with Elliott said. IPG shares went up by 1.5 percent at $20.15 on July 24, 2014. An IPG spokesman did not respond to a request to comment.
Trulia, Inc. Selects Draftfcb San Francisco as First Agency of Record

Trulia, Inc. has named Draftfcb San Francisco as its first agency of record, effective immediately. The agency, which was selected following a competitive review, will create a fully integrated campaign for the San Francisco-based company that is set to launch in the second quarter of the year. Trulia is an online resource that delivers insights on real estate including information on neighborhoods, agents, crime and commutes. Draftfcb bested seven agencies for the business. Previously, Trulia's marketing efforts were handled internally. Other clients on the agency's roster include Levi Strauss and Co., Electronic Arts, PGandE, Taco Bell, Dockers, Fidelity Investments, Fuhu, Del Monte, Kikkoman, Habitat for Humanity, Ooma and Air New Zealand.
Draftfcb Appoints Lee Garfinkel as CEO of Draftfcb New York

Draftfcb announced that Lee Garfinkel has been appointed CEO of Draftfcb New York. In this role, Garfinkel will oversee all aspects of the global network's New York office, reporting to Murray. Garfinkel will work in tandem with New York Chief Creative Officer Javier Campopiano and will start in January. As a creative director Garfinkel has helped some of the marketers achieve iconic status. As an agency leader he's won new business and boosted agency reputations. Most recently, Garfinkel served as co-chairman of Havas Worldwide and Havas New York, as well as that agency's chief creative officer of global bands. Prior to that role, Garfinkel served as chairman and chief creative officer of DDB New York where he built up the agency's digital capabilities and secured assignments from Bud Light, Michelob, Diet Pepsi, Philips Global, Subaru, Lipton Tea, United Technologies Corporation and Electrolux Appliances.
