Tegile Systems and Splunk Unleash the Power of IoT Data with Scalable Storage Performance and Capacity

Tegile Systems announced a partnership to run Splunk analytics on Tegile IntelliFlash. Through the integration, businesses of all sizes are able to capture insights from the explosion of machine-generated data (MGD) and Internet of Things (IoT) data by combining Splunk’s operational intelligence platform with Tegile’s unique storage infrastructure, which scales both storage performance and capacity without disruption. Tegile is the only storage provider that combines multiple types of storage media into a single volume. As a result, Splunk and Tegile IntelliFlash automatically place hot, warm and cold data to the appropriate storage tier within the same storage array and file system based on the stage of the Splunk pipeline: Ingest, Search, Index, Query, and Visualize. This reduces the overall workload during hot to warm/cold data bucket movement. In contrast, other storage vendors segregate hot and warm/cold buckets on different storage arrays, forcing Splunk to read and write all data during every data movement. This is especially cumbersome for large, enterprise environments where an admin would have to manage hundreds of volumes. Tegile is able to reduce query time through Splunk by providing flash-optimized storage and metadata. Since Tegile enables all data bucket rolls to occur within the same array, file system and volume, data movement becomes a simple metadata update within the array. Tegile’s patented metadata acceleration process isolates and aggregates metadata on flash, reducing the query time significantly. Tegile also compresses the already-compressed Splunk data upon ingest into the array, resulting in improved data reduction ratios and cost savings. Notable use cases include: Predictive analytics for IT operations: Make sense of syslog or NOC data, especially helpful for CIOs looking to implement predictive analytics for IT operations; Security information and event management: Centralize and report security-oriented data for a holistic understanding of an organization's IT security; IoT and real-time business analytics: Monetize raw data generated by customer machine data. Customers can also use the Tegile IntelliFlash App for Splunk to retrieve relevant data from Tegile storage arrays and display it within the Splunk user interface for a single-pane-of-glass view of one or multiple Tegile storage arrays. The type of data retrieved includes array controllers, pools, volumes and mappings to assist administrators in monitoring and management. Pricing and Availability: The Splunk solution is broadly available now through Tegile Systems’ global channel partner network.

Tegile Systems Announces its IntelliFlash Cloud Platform at VMworld 2016

Tegile Systems announced its IntelliFlash Cloud Platform (CP) at VMworld 2016. This rack scale all-flash platform is designed for Fortune 1000 enterprise companies looking to achieve both the cost benefits of cloud architectures and the reliability and control of on-premises storage solutions. IntelliFlash CP touts scale-out functionality through multi-controller clusters and Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) to equip enterprises with the optimal storage performance to cost-effectively build a private cloud. IntelliFlash CP will stitch together multiple controllers to provide the ability to scale out horizontally and vertically across protocols. Controllers will be shared across a global namespace and have shared access to multiple grades of media that data is intelligently placed upon. As a result, enterprises will be able to build massively scalable infrastructure with up to tens of petabytes of flash storage. Enterprises will experience the resulting performance gains and benefit from pricing that is better than public cloud offerings. IntelliFlash CP lays the foundation for an integrated system that will use NVMe to massively reduce network latency to meet the enterprise need for real-time access to data. By leveraging NVMe to connect SSDs to the controller plane, IntelliFlash CP will be able to provide memory-to-memory transfers nearly as fast as accessing local file storage at sub-millisecond latencies. This is unprecedented latency in the storage industry. IntelliFlash CP customers will have access to Tegile IntelliCare, the company’s comprehensive customer care program designed to maximize the uptime and efficiency of customers’ storage arrays and save them time on storage administration. Tegile IntelliCare™ includes Lifetime Storage, a program that delivers an entirely new storage system to customers, including the controller and media, every three to five years with a flat maintenance contract. This combined with IntelliPay, an agility pricing program that allows customers to pay for storage per gigabyte-month as they use it, enables enterprises to achieve cloud-like pricing and efficiency.

Tegile Systems Integrates with Cisco to Unite Flash Storage with Hybrid Cloud Management for Enterprises

Tegile Systems announced an integration with Cisco UCS Director to orchestrate and automate an end-to-end IT converged infrastructure management process. IT deployment of data center resources make the difference between a successful enterprise and an ineffective one. Tegile’s IntelliStack integration with Cisco UCS Director improves consistency efficiency and speed. Through the integration, enterprises are able to deploy the latest in flash storage technology from Tegile supported with the Cisco UCS Director interface that manages infrastructure components including compute, network, virtualization and storage as well as public clouds such as Amazon and Azure. By combining Tegile’s IntelliStack with Cisco UCS Director, enterprises are able to replace manual provisioning and de-provisioning of private and public cloud data center resources with automated workflows, ultimately reducing delivery time from days to weeks. Tegile’s data reduction capabilities also lower capital expenses by enabling real-time monitoring, dynamic load balancing and optimum resource usage. As a result, enterprises better manage a breadth of flash-based workloads and easily scale applications to support the success of their organizations. The integration is a multi-hypervisor solution with support for VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V and Red Hat KVM hypervisors and public clouds such as Amazon and Azure. IntelliStack with Cisco UCS Director’s task library allows orchestration, workflow management, and single-touch deployment of virtual machines, hosts, and virtual networks. In addition, a broad OS guest support facilitates cloning of Windows and Linux virtual machines, and monitors host and virtual machine memory and resource use.
