Bharat Light & Power and the energy producer in Europe, announced the formation of a new 50-50 joint venture to provide distributed solar energy solutions in India. The joint venture called Statkraft BLP Solar Solutions Private Limited will provide industrial and commercial consumers with both rooftop and ground mounted solutions with world class technology and execution. In addition, SBSS shall provide a variety of financing structures, whereby consumers can convert their solar CAPEX into an attractive per unit cost of solar energy, enabling consumers to reduce their carbon footprint and lower energy costs.

Enel Green Power S.p.A. (BIT:EGPW) eyeing new acquisitions and is ready to buy the control of Bharat Light and Power Private Limited with an initial investment of €50 million, Il Sole 24 Ore said citing Chief Executive Francesco Venturini.

Enel Green Power And Bharat Light and Power Reportedly Mulls Acquisitions

Enel Green Power S.p.A. (BIT:EGPW) is reportedly seeking investment in Bharat Light and Power Private Limited. Italian renewable energy multinational Enel Green Power is in advance negotiations with Bharat Light & Power to make a significant investment for a controlling stake in the company. Enel Power may invest around INR 9 billion as fresh equity commitment into the company to support the expansion plans of its total capacity to 450-500 MW from the current 172 MW over the next 2-3 years, said multiple people in the know. “Bharat Light and Power could become Enel Green Power's operating platform here and grow further through subsequent investments and acquisitions," said one of the people mentioned above on conditions of anonymity as the talks are in private domain.
