Pepco Energy Services, Inc. Key Developments

Pepco Energy Services, Inc. Receives $80.43 Million Federal Contract

Pepco Energy Services Inc. was awarded an $80,429,313 task order by the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center for the design and installation of lighting; water and sewer conservation systems; pool covers; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and renewable energy systems, including installation of a 2.2-megawatt solar hybrid array on the U.S. Naval Station Great Lakes landfill, and 480 kilowatt individual roof top solar hybrid systems. The place of performance will be in North Chicago, Illinois.

Pepco Energy Wins U.S. Army Corps of Engineers MATOC

Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings Inc. has again been awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC). Awards were made on May 8 by The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. The IDIQ has $1.5 billion in capacity for task orders under a base ordering period of five years with one additional five-year option period. The IDIQ provides Pepco Energy with the opportunity to develop and execute task orders for the design, construction and operation of energy savings projects to help military installations meet mandated energy and water reduction goals, and renewable energy goals, while improving their energy infrastructure and resiliency. Because an ESPC task order is funded by guaranteed energy savings, there is no up-front cost to the government.

Florence County Government Joins Forces with Pepco Energy

Pepco Energy Services has commenced implementation of an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with Florence County, South Carolina. Pepco Energy will install over $6.6 million of energy efficiency improvements at thirty Florence County facilities that are guaranteed to save more than $432,000 annually and $7.6 million over the term, while also addressing critical infrastructure needs. The installed energy efficiency measures include high efficiency lighting equipment such as light-emitting diode (LED) lighting retrofits, water conservation measures, building envelope improvements, high efficiency domestic hot water heaters, boiler replacement, a water source heat pump system, demand control ventilation, a chiller plant optimization system, window film and high efficiency electrical transformers. The project is expected to reduce Florence County's energy usage by 20.7% relative to project baseline. After implementation of the ESPC project, the County will exceed the energy efficiency requirements established by South Carolina's energy efficiency law, which set a goal of reducing energy usage for state agencies and public school districts by 20% by July 1, 2020 as compared to year 2000 levels.
