Discovery Networks International Promotes Michael Lang to President, International Development, Digital and Discovery Nordics

Michael Lang has been promoted to president, International Development, Digital and Discovery Nordics. Continuing to report to Jean-Briac Perrette, president and CEO, Discovery Networks International, he will be responsible for leading the overall business of the Nordic region consisting of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Lang will continue to manage Discovery Networks International's corporate development and digital efforts outside the US, reporting to Bruce Campbell, chief development, distribution & legal officer. Lang joined Discovery's London office in April 2016. Prior to joining the company, in addition to his most recent stint running his own advisory and sponsor equity firm, he served as CEO at Miramax and led business development at Fox Entertainment. In the latter, he helped create Hulu, acquire MySpace and launch several new cable channels.

Discovery Networks International Appoints JB Perrette as President and Chief Executive Officer

On June 13, 2016, Discovery Corporate Services Limited (DCSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Discovery Communications Inc. entered into an employment agreement with JB Perrette, the company's President, Discovery Networks International (the Employment Agreement). The Employment Agreement supersedes in its entirety the employment agreement, dated as of January 14, 2014, between Discovery Communications, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company and Mr. Perrette. Pursuant to the Employment Agreement, Mr. Perrette will serve as the president and chief executive officer, Discovery Networks International. The term of the Employment Agreement is effective as of June 13, 2016 and runs through June 30, 2019. The parties may agree to renew the Employment Agreement. If DCSL desires to renew the Employment Agreement, DCSL must notify Mr. Perrette to that effect, in writing, no later than 150 days prior to the end of the term of the Employment Agreement. Mr. Perrette's primary work location will be DCSL's offices in London, England.

Discovery Communications Inc. Names Marjorie Kaplan as New President of Content for Discovery Networks International

Discovery Communications Inc. appointed Marjorie Kaplan as its new president of content for Discovery Networks International. In the newly created role, Kaplan will be the international content leader responsible for strategy, coordination and execution of all the division's content and brand strategies across the entire portfolio, as well as on all platforms worldwide. Kaplan, the group president of TLC (US) and Animal Planet (US), last year expanded her oversight to include Velocity (US). She will relocate this October to Discovery's international headquarters in London.
