eBay Partners with Tianjin Municipal Government to Strengthen Cross-Border Trade

In a move to further cement eBay China's reputation as an industry leader in retail exports, eBay signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Tianjin Municipal Government to strengthen cross-border trade (CBT) cooperation. The Northern Chinese city of Tianjin is a growing regional hub for online retail export and becomes the eighth Chinese pilot city for cross-border eCommerce trade. Known for its diverse local industries - furniture, musical instruments, carpets and bicycles - the city is emerging as an online powerhouse due to the continuing support of eBay in helping local sellers reach overseas markets and providing global consumers with a greater selection of Chinese products. Under the new agreement, eBay and Tianjin will work together to develop the city in the areas of eCommerce operations, logistics, innovation, entrepreneurship, financing and talent development. Plans are already underway for an eCommerce talent training center and a cross-border eCommerce port and logistics center to further boost the ability of exporters to access global markets, plus drive increased demand for their export trade.
