The National Fire Protection Association Announces Appointment of Rafa Yanez as New Business Development Leader in Latin America

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has hired Rafa Yanez, an experienced business development and electrical safety executive, to work to train customers, providers, instructors and new educational partners in the region. Yanez will report to NFPA's business operations team and work closely with the organization's international operations team to share NFPA's information and knowledge throughout the region. Yanez, of Mexico, brings local perspective and strategic, operational and technical insight to NFPA's Latin American training program. He worked for 20 years at Schneider Electric before becoming director/owner of CBC-Electrotechnology. During his career, Yanez has collaborated with regional and international industry sectors, customers, key distributors, associations, professional colleges, and public and private entities experience that will serve him well in this new NFPA training intermediary role.

Nathaniel Lin recently joined the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) as director of data strategy and analytics, and will lead NFPA's new strategic initiative on big data acquisition, analytics and application. In this newly created role for NFPA, Lin will identify, assess and develop resources that enhance the association's ability to deliver an expanded range of information, knowledge and advice to multiple audiences. Lin brings an extensive background in business and marketing analytics with strategic roles in both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. He offers NFPA agency and client perspective gleaned from key analytics roles at Fidelity Investments, OgilvyOne, Aspen Marketing and IBM Worldwide.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) elected new members to its Board of Directors at the 2015 NFPA Conference & Expo in Chicago. The three-year terms for new members took effect upon the close of the annual meeting. New members elected to the board include John D. Bonney, R. David Paulison and Michael Wallace. Bonney is co-director of Alchemy Management Solutions Ltd. He previously served as chief officer of Hampshire Fire and Rescue, which has an international reputation for its technical expertise, innovation and leading edge performance. Paulison, currently a private consultant on fire and emergency service issues, is a recognized leader in emergency and disaster response and recovery, most recently serving as administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Wallace is director of global codes and standards for the Building and Industrial Systems division of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).
