National Fire Protection Association Appoints Charles (Chuck) Stravin as Vice President of Business Operations

The National Fire Protection Association announced the appointment of Charles (Chuck) Stravin as vice president of business operations, with overall responsibility for developing the strategic vision and operations to serve customers. Stravin reports to NFPA President Jim Pauley. Stravin will oversee a product and service strategy that delivers solutions to NFPAs diverse customers in fire, electrical and building safety. His leadership responsibilities include product development, marketing and advertising, training and certification, sales and order fulfillment. As a senior operating executive with more than 20 years of experience, Stravin joins NFPA from Mesa Home Products where he served as president and CEO. He previously served as executive vice president of sales and marketing at Euro-Pro Operating LLC and vice president of finance and business operations for the Holmes Group.

The National Fire Protection Association announced the appointment of Julie Lynch as vice president of human resources. Lynch will develop and align HR strategy, programs and policies to support NFPAs overall strategy and evolving culture and goals. Lynch reports to NFPA President Jim Pauley. Julie brings a wealth of human resources management experience and knowledge to the NFPA team. In her role, Lynch is responsible for HR strategy development and implementation, talent management, employee engagement and organizational development. As a senior human resources executive with 20 years of experience, Lynch joins NFPA from International Data Group (IDG) and IDG Research Workforce Efficacy Solutions where she held numerous HR leadership positions.
National Fire Protection Association Announces New Officers and Members to Board of Directors

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) announced the previously elected new officers and elected members to its Board of Directors at the 2014 NFPA Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new terms, two years for officers and three years for directors, took effect upon the close of the annual meeting. Ernest J. Grant, RN, MSN, PhD (C), FAAN of Chapel Hill, N.C. was elected as board chair. Randolph W. Tucker of The Woodlands, Texas, was elected as first vice chair. Tucker previously served as secretary and most recently as the second vice chair. Keith E. Williams, president and CEO of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) was elected as second vice chair. Williams previously served as assistant treasurer. Amy R. Acton, executive director of the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, was elected as secretary. New members elected to the board include Russell B. Leavitt of Tempe, Arizona, and Eric R. Rosenbaum of Baltimore, Maryland. Leavitt is executive chairman and board member at Telgian Corporation. Most recently, he was Telgian's Chief Executive Officer, serving previously as the managing member of Fire Materials Group, LLC. Rosenbaum is vice president at Hughes Associates Inc., a consulting engineering firm providing specialized consulting services including fire protection, life safety and risk analysis.
