Naguib Sawiris Reportedly Mulls Sale Of ECMS Stake

Naguib Sawiris is planning to sell stake in The Egyptian Company for Mobile Services SAE (CASE:EMOB) (ECMS). He plans to sell off the 5% stake he holds in ECMS via Orascom Telecom Media and Technology Holding S.A.E. (CASE:OTMT). According to Ahram Online, the Executive cited poor internal management of Verizon Wireless Inc (cellco) by Orange (ENXTPA:ORA), as the main reason for selling. When asked if rumors that he was to divest his holding in Mobinil Telecommunications S.A.E. were true, with reference to Orange's management of ECMS he was cited as saying, “But of course; they ruined the company, very big companies tend to be like public sector companies.”
Mobinil Denies Reported Sale By Orange

Mobinil Telecommunications S.A.E. has denied media reports that Orange (ENXTRA:ORA) plans to divest its stake in Mobinil. Mobinil Chief Executive Officer, Yves Gouthier said Orange was not considering selling its stake in Mobinil due to Egyptian operator's losses in the past two years, and the French company will continue to invest in the local market. Gouthier explained that the owner sees the Egyptian market as promising and with strong growth opportunities.
Mobinil Reports Earnings Results for the First Nine Months of 2013

Mobinil reported earnings results for the first nine months of 2013. For the period, the company reported net losses of EGP 447.2 million against EGP 94 million a year ago. The company increased its revenues to EGP 7.8 billion compared to EGP 7.7 billion for the same period in 2012 an increase of 1.8%.
