The board of directors of the Eversendai Corporation Berhad announced that Datuk Iskandar Bin Sarudin has been appointed as independent and non-executive director of the company with effect from 22 August 2017. Datuk Iskandar Sarudin began his career in the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service in 1979. He has served the nation in Jakarta, Indonesia and Lagos, Nigeria as the Second Secretary and First Secretary of the Embassy of Malaysia and High Commission of Malaysia respectively. He was then appointed as the Principal Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia in 1989 before being tasked by the Ministry to establish Embassy of Malaysia in Republic of Chile and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has also served as High Commissioner of Malaysia to Sri Lanka, Republic of Maldives and Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Philippines, People's Republic of China and Mongolia in addition to being appointed as Deputy Secretary General (Management Affairs), Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2006.

Eversendai Corporation Berhad reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 465,870,000 against MYR 421,551,000 a year ago. Operating profit was MYR 31,750,000 against MYR 30,918,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 25,747,000 against loss before tax of MYR 18,758,000 a year ago. Profit for the period was MYR 22,792,000 against loss for the period of MYR 20,292,000 a year ago. Profit attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 20,609,000 or 2.66 sen per basic and diluted share compared to loss attributable to equity holders of the company of MYR 21,282,000 or 2.75 sen per basic and diluted share a year ago. For the six months, the company reported revenue of MYR 861,838,000 against MYR 862,276,000 a year ago. Operating profit was MYR 53,733,000 against MYR 55,663,000 a year ago. Net cash flows used in operating activities was MYR 33,796,000 against net cash flows generated from operating activities of MYR 121,976,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment were MYR 36,621,000 against MYR 30,480,000 a year ago.
