Alion Science and Technology Corporation to Support Air Force Spectrum Management Under $15 million Contract

Air Force Spectrum Management Office (AFSMO) has awarded Alion Science and Technology Corporation $15 million, 5-year contract to meet spectrum access in support of national security priorities without disrupting operations, testing and training. Under the contract, Alion will assist AFSMO with its global mission to provide spectrum management, including strategic planning and policy recommendations, satellite coordination, and spectrum reallocation. Alion will also conduct research and technical analyses to determine the feasibility of sharing spectrum with commercial wireless providers, identify new spectrum for relocation and implement transition plans for affected spectrum-dependent systems. Additionally, Alion will support AFSMO’s participation in national and international regulatory forums.

Alion Science and Technology Wins $25 Million Contract to Support Wireless Communications and Systems

Wireless communication using radio frequency (RF) spectrum is vitally important to successfully executing modern military operations, testing weapons systems, and training U.S. forces. Protecting the Army’s use of spectrum is critical to national security, which is why the Army Spectrum Management Office (ASMO) has awarded Alion Science and Technology a $25 million contract to ensure the Army’s compliance with federal spectrum regulations and presidential direction while protecting wireless communications from interference. In order to promote and protect Army access to the spectrum, Alion will provide engineering assessments, research, and analysis to ensure uninterrupted operation of all current and future RF spectrum-dependent systems for ASMO customers and programs. This will help ensure that the Army’s spectrum requirements are supportable to conduct combat operations, training, and daily mission requirements around the world.

Alion Science and Technology Wins $47 Million Marine Corps Contract to Support Weapon Systems Modernization

Due to aging weapon systems, reduced manpower and challenging budget conditions, the Marine Corps has placed an even greater focus on logistics and sustainment to ensure operational readiness and maximum effectiveness. To support this critical need, Alion Science and Technology has been awarded a $47 million task order by the Headquarters Marine Corps Installations and Logistics (HQMC I&L) for Life Cycle Support Modernization Services. The objective of the HQMC I&L roadmap is to analyze and understand the impact of modern technologies throughout the life cycles of weapons systems. Under this award, Alion will support the Marine Corps by modernizing logistics processes, implementing proven technology with best practices and developing standards for performance. Alion’s expertise will allow commanders and program managers to understand each weapon system’s condition and identify components that may fail before the next mission. To support the Marine Corps under the task order, Alion will build upon previous work in the areas of Integrating Logistics Command & Control Technologies and Capabilities, Maintenance Modernization, Data Management & Exchange Standards, Decision Support Simulation & Planning Capability Development, Asset Information Management & Automated Armory maturation, and overall Portfolio Management. The task order was awarded under the Defense Systems Technical Area Task Multiple Award Contract (DS TAT MAC).
