DLF Reportedly In Talks To Sell Its Stake In DLF Cyber City
Dec 3 14
DLF Limited (BSE:532868) has initiated a process to sell 50% of DLF Cyber City Developers Ltd. to raise over INR 35 billion, reported Economic Times citing sources with direct knowledge of the matter. The report added that DLF is in talks with strategic players and investors like The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE:BX), Brookfield Global Relocation Services, LLC for the transaction. According to the sources, promoters of DLF hold 40% in DLF Cyber City Developers through compulsory convertible preference shares (CCPS) issued in 2009 which would require INR 25 billion - INR 35 billion. Earlier plan was a share swap through which the promoters KP Singh and family would have increased their stake in the parent company, DLF. Under the SEBI order DLF cannot take the share swap route to acquire the remaining shares in Cyber City subsidiary. When contacted by ET NOW, DLF's spokesperson said, "Your information is incorrect, there is no such move."
