GE Transportation Plans to Move Production of 10 Evolution Locomotives to its Fort Worth, Texas Plant

GE Transportation announced that its Northwestern Pennsylvania location fell behind on its 2015 production schedule during union negotiations and the company now plans move more work Texas, potentially costing over 100 jobs in Erie. It plans to move production of 10 Evolution locomotives to its Fort Worth, Texas plant in 2015 and 50 Evolution locomotives to the same plant next year, costing Erie 125 jobs.

GE Transportation Wins $560 Million Supply Contract with Saudi Electricity

GE Transportation announced that it won a $560 million contract to supply Saudi Electricity with gas and steam turbines. GE also announced the first sale of its new 12V250 Marine Diesel Engine that meets Ecomagination standards and is designed to meet EPA Tier 4i and IMO Tier III Emissions standards. GE's breakthrough technology eliminates the need for a urea-based after-treatment emissions reduction system, providing more valuable cargo space, and reduces emissions by 50%.
