American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Names Annette Nellen as Chair of Tax Executive Committee

The American Institute of CPAs has named Annette Nellen, CPA, CGMA, Esq., chair of its Tax Executive Committee. Nellen is the director of San Jose State University's (SJSU) graduate tax program and a professor in the program. She teaches courses in tax policy, high tech tax, property transactions, employment tax, accounting methods, ethics and tax research. Prior to becoming chair, Nellen served as vice chair of the Tax Executive Committee; her appointment was effective October 25, 2016. Nellen succeeds Troy K. Lewis, whose term as chair began in October 2014.

American Institute of CPA Names Kimberly N. Ellison-Taylor as New Chairman of its Board of Directors

Kimberly N. Ellison-Taylor, global accounting strategy director for Oracle America, is the new chairman of the board of directors of the American Institute of CPAs. Ellison-Taylor, 46, was elected to the volunteer post by the AICPA governing Council, which concludes its annual fall meeting today. Eric Hansen, chief operating officer of the national CPA and advisory firm BKD, was voted in as vice chair. Ellison-Taylor has a long history of service to the profession. She has served on the AICPA board for four years, most recently as vice chairman, was a member of the AICPA Business and Industry Executive Committee and has also worked with the AICPA Finance and Audit Committees, among other activities.
