Snyder's-Lance, Inc. Selects Horizon Media as its Media Agency of Record for Four of its Core Brands

Horizon Media announced that Synder's-Lance has named the agency's New York office as its media agency of record (AOR) for four of its core brands. The agency has been awarded all core communications planning and activation responsibilities for the U.S. market for Snyder's-Lance brands – Snyder's of Hanover®, Lance®, Cape Cod® and Snack Factory® Pretzel Crisps®. Horizon will collaborate closely with the creative agency in order to plan towards marketing communications that will focus on Snyder's-Lance's transformation as it becomes the trusted consumer choice in snacking, including 'better for you' snacking options for its four large brands. Horizon Media's first work for Synder's-Lance will launch in Spring 2015.

Horizon Media Elevates Vincent O'Toole to Chief Operating Officer

Horizon Media announced that it has elevated its Chief Financial Officer, Vincent O'Toole, to Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. O'Toole will also retain his Chief Financial Officer title. O'Toole is tasked with overseeing Horizon Media's Finance, Information Technology, Business Affairs, Shared Services and Facilities departments, ensuring that Horizon's business infrastructure runs as efficiently and smoothly as possible. In his new position as Chief Operating Officer, O'Toole will now additionally oversee the agency's new data science practice, led by newly hired Chief Analytics Officer, Rick Watrall; the direct marketing operation, helmed by Executive Vice President and Managing Partner, Gene Turner; and the agency's INVENT@horizon initiative, spearheaded by Chief Invention Officer, Taylor Valentine.

Horizon Media Hires Rick Watrall as Chief Analytics Officer

Horizon Media announced that it has hired Rick Watrall as Chief Analytics Officer. Watrall will focus on enhancing analytics solutions, inventing new avenues for data creation, transforming the agency's proprietary data platforms and mining new sources and streams of data. He will lead Horizon's team of analysts, data scientists and statisticians to inform and support the agency's strategy, channel planning and activation solutions. In his role as Chief Analytics Officer, Watrall will lead the agency's advanced marketing analytics team to turn data into actionable information and insights that can both inform and support the agency's recommendations to clients. He is tasked with agency's data scientists in designing and recommending the appropriate analytical approach across various client and internal needs. Watrall is additionally charged with building out a new analytics team that will work alongside the agency's Chief Information Officer, Cliff Cree, to analyze and interpret data to seek causal relationships and provide value to Horizon and its vast client portfolio as it continues to expand. Most recently, Watrall was senior Partner at Hudson River Group where he was responsible for marketing analysis and software applications for strategic and tactical marketing planning as well as ROI optimization.
