Volvo Car Corporation is launching its new V60 D5 Twin Engine Special Edition at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show. The model is equipped with Volvo's diesel-electric hybrid engine that delivers 230bhp and produces around 120 kW via the combustion engine and about 50 kW from its 11.2 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. It features a signature
paint finish, gloss black exterior detailing, 19-inch wheels and an interior with a black headliner and piano black trim.
Volvo Car Corporation to Equip China Version of S60 L with Turbocharged Three-Cylinder Petrol Engine

Volvo Car Corporation announced that it is equipping its China version of S60 L with a T3 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. The model is a stretched version of the Volvo S60 that was launched on the Chinese car market in December 2013. The Volvo S60L T3 is to be launched early in the second quarter of 2015. The engine produces 180bhp and 265nm. The model's other engines include an 182hp 2.0 turbo and a 214hp 2.0 turbo.

Volvo Car Group reported earnings results for the year 2014. The company reported a 17.4% increase in operating profit for 2014 to SEK 2,252 million, compared to SEK 1,919 million in 2013, as record sales cleared the way for the company to continue investing in its global transformation. Revenue for the year was SEK 129,959 million, up from SEK 122,245 million in 2013. The all-time sales record of 465,866 cars was an increase of 8.9% compared to 427,840 in 2013, and was supported by strong performances in China and Europe. In China, the company's large market, Volvo Cars sold over 80,000 cars. In Europe, Volvo grew twice as fast as the overall market and all of its main competitors in the region. Volvo Cars has now reported sales growth every month since July 2013.
The company unveiled the all-new Volvo XC90, which is built on an entirely new, in-house developed Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) technology, which improves driveability and provides a wider range of design options. SPA will be used across the product range in future and will generate economies of scale, improvements in productivity and improved profitability. The XC90 also features Volvo Cars new in-house developed Drive-E powertrain, which provides combination of power and low carbon emissions. Drive-E will also be introduced across the product range in future. In addition, the XC90 offers safety technologies and the most comprehensive safety package on the market as standard.
