Volvo Car Corporation is seeking financing. The company’s Board is making preparations for a future listing of Volvo Cars. It was decided that there will be three categories of shares with different voting powers in Volvo instead of one. This includes A shares with ten votes each and B shares and preference shares with one vote each. The 500,000 shares held by Geely owner Li Shufu have been registered as A shares. Volvo Plans to Launch First All-Electric Model in 2019

Volvo Car Corporation plans to launch its first all-electric model sometime in 2019. The automaker is still assessing its Compact Modular Architecture and Scalable Product Architecture platforms to determine which will underpin its first all-electric model, Green Car Congress has reported, detailing Volvo EV powertrain senior director, Mats Anderson's comments at a recent SAE symposium. The automaker's first EV will be built on the CMA architecture, which will be shared with the company's upcoming small models such as the XC40. Engineers are presently developing Modular Electrification Powertrain components that can be used across the range of EVs, including from 134bhp to nearly 600bhp. The technology will support battery pack configurations of up to 100-kWh, likely generating around 300 miles of range for a crossover or even longer range in a lower-riding model.
