Apex Clean Energy Signs O&M Deal with IKEA for Alberta Wind Farm

Apex Clean Energy has inked a multiyear deal with IKEA Canada LP to manage and remotely operate the 88-MW Wintering Hills wind facility in Alberta, Canada. The wind project comprises 55 turbines and was placed online in 2011. The companies entered partnership twice in 2014, as IKEA acquired from Apex the 165-MW Cameron wind project in Texas and the 98-MW Hoopeston wind facility in Illinois. Apex is still in charge of the operations and maintenance of the two power plants, which both reached commercial operation status in 2015.

Avery Dennison Signs Wind Power Purchase Agreement with Apex Clean Energy

Avery Dennison Corporation has signed a wind power purchase agreement, or PPA, with Apex Clean Energy to offset 50% of its US-based greenhouse gas emissions derived from electricity consumption, signaling commitment by Avery Dennison to renewable energy and energy efficient practices and technology. Under the agreement with Apex's Perryton Wind, a 299.91 MW wind energy project to be located in Ochiltree County, Texas, Avery Dennison will purchase 20 MW of renewable energy capacity. The PPA is a key component of Avery Dennison's 2025 sustainability goal to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions from its operations by at least 3% annually, and by at least 26% overall, between 2015 and 2025, made as part of the company's new participation in WWF's Climate Savers Program. Perryton will be Apex's fifth Texas wind farm, powering the equivalent of 108,000 US homes.
