Vishay Intertechnology Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended April 4, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net revenues of $593,436,000 against $602,378,000 a year ago. Operating income was $47,558,000 against $42,572,000 a year ago. Income before taxes was $44,657,000 against $37,904,000 a year ago. Net earnings attributable to the company stockholders were $30,699,000 or $0.20 diluted per share against $25,810,000 or $0.17 basic and diluted per share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $13,498,000 against $29,954,000 a year ago. Purchase of property and equipment was $19,782,000 against $19,347,000 a year ago. Adjusted net earnings were $31,601,000 or $0.21 diluted per share against $30,117,000 or $0.20 diluted per share a year ago. EBITDA was $95,231,000 against $86,016,000 a year ago. Vishay Intertechnology Inc. Introduces New Series of AEC-Q200-Qualified, High-Precision Dual-in-Line Thin Film Resistor Networks

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. introduced a new series of AEC-Q200-qualified, high-precision dual-in-line thin film resistor networks. The Vishay Dale Thin Film AORN series features low TCR tracking of ± 5 ppm/°C, tight ratio tolerances to ± 0.05 %, and excellent long-term ratio stability of 0.015 % after 1,000 hours at +155 °C. For improved ESD and moisture protection, the resistor networks are constructed with a tantalum nitride resistor film on a high-purity alumina or ceramic substrate. AORN series devices are available in two configurations: as four equal-value resistors ranging from 1 kO to 100 kO and as two resistor dividers in the same package with ratios from 1:1 to 1:100. The resistor networks feature a rugged molded 50 mil pitch construction and narrow (0.150 in) 8-pin SOIC packages, in accordance with JEDEC MS-012. The devices offer a typical power rating of 100 mW per resistor element. The integrated construction of AORN resistor networks allows for higher precision over discrete SMT chips, making the devices ideal for precision voltage dividers, op amps, and battery management applications. Typical end products will include automotive, telecommunications, industrial, process control, and medical instrumentation. Per AEC-Q200, the resistor networks are rated for ESD to 2 kV at > 10 kO. The devices feature extremely low noise of < -30 dB and voltage coefficients of < 0.1 ppm/V, and they operate over a wide temperature range of -55 °C to +155 °C. AORN series devices are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, and they pass the sulfur resistance test per ASTM B 809.
Vishay Intertechnology’s Thin Film Bar MOS Capacitor Delivers High Power in Two Miniature Case Sizes for Hybrid Assemblies

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. introduced a new thin film bar MOS capacitor designed for use in high-power hybrid assemblies and SiC and GaN applications. The Vishay Dale Resistors Electro-Films BRCP offers high power handling and operating voltage up to 100 V in two compact case sizes measuring 120 mil by 35 mil (case A) and 240 mil by 35 mil (case B), allowing for smaller product designs without sacrificing performance. With its high working voltage over a capacitance range of 5 pF to 100 pF and its robust MOS construction, the device released is optimized for LC, RC, or LRC filters; RF choking; and DC blocking and impedance matching. For these applications, the BRCP can accommodate multiple wire bonds, with seven bonds for case A and 15 bonds for case B at their lowest values. The bar capacitor features low TCC down to ± 50 ppm/°C and absolute tolerance down to ± 5 %. The device provides excellent load-life stability and operates over a wide temperature range of -55 °C to +150 °C. Samples and production quantities of the BRCP bar MOS capacitor are available now, with lead times of 10 weeks for larger orders.
Vishay Intertechnology Inc. Extends its RCWE Series of Thick Film Surface-Mount Wraparound Chip Resistors

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. announced that it has extended its RCWE series of thick film surface-mount wraparound chip resistors with new devices in the 0612 and 1020 case sizes. Featuring long side terminations, the Vishay Dale RCWE0612 and RCWE1020 provide four times the power dissipation of standard devices in equivalent 1206 and 2010 footprints, saving space and reducing component counts in telecommunications, computer, industrial, and consumer applications. The long side terminations of the RCWE0612 and RCWE1020 provide a shorter path for heat dissipation to the PCB, allowing them to provide enhanced power ratings to 1 W and 2 W, respectively. In addition, their construction reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) mismatch with the PCB, which increases reliability by reducing the possibility of solder joint cracks resulting from thermal cycles. The AEC-Q200-qualified devices offer extremely low resistance values from 0.01 O to 0.976 O, tolerance down to ± 1 %, and TCR of ± 100 ppm/°C, ± 200 ppm/°C, and ± 300 ppm/°C. They are optimized as current sensing resistors and shunts in DC/DC converters, voltage regulation modules, and inverters in cell phones, computers, disc driver motor controls, air conditioners, and heat pumps. Samples and production quantities of the RCWE0612 and RCWE1020 are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for large orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery starts at $0.12 per piece in 10,000-piece quantities.

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. introduced a new series of miniaturized snap-in power aluminum capacitors with high capacitance from 820 µF to 47,000 µF in compact cases down to 20 mm by 25 mm. Designed for audio, industrial, and general power supply applications, 256 PMG-SI capacitors offer a long useful life, high ripple current, and low ESR. Featuring a cylindrical aluminum case with a pressure relief valve, insulated with a blue PET sleeve, the new Vishay BCcomponents snap-in capacitors released are available in 17 case sizes ranging from 20 mm by 25 mm to 35 mm by 45 mm, with voltages from 16 V to 100 V. The devices offer a wide temperature range from -40 °C to +105 °C, useful life of 2,000 hours at +105 °C, ripple current to 4.85 A, and ESR down to 14 mO. As polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a non-solid electrolyte, 256 PMG-SI series devices are ideally suited for smoothing, filtering, and energy storage in pulsed power applications for audio amplifiers, LED drivers, UPS systems, and solar power micro-inverters. The capacitors are lead (Pb)-free and RoHS-compliant. Samples of the 256 PMG-SI series capacitors are available now. Production quantities are available with lead times of 10 to 14 weeks.
