Splunk Enterprise and Hunk help gain insights into all of data, whether it is streaming in real time or historical data at rest. Hunk gives Yahoo deep visibility into massive Hadoop data stores to help continuously optimize operational performance. Shazam Uses Splunk® Enterprise

Splunk Inc. announced that Shazam is using Splunk® Enterprise to deliver key business insights to its sales force and advertising partners to drive more effective campaigns. Employees throughout the organization, including product managers and engineers, also rely on Splunk Enterprise to enhance app performance and increase user engagement. Shazam regularly delivers analytics from Splunk software to its sales force and advertising partners to better understand campaign effectiveness. The dashboards include statistics such as counts of product information requests, the geographic location of tags, device type, operating system, broad user trends and real-time purchasing patterns. Shazam's engineering team uses Splunk software to monitor and measure the impact of every change to the Shazam app, during the test stage and once the app is released in production. For example, Shazam released a new home screen for the app and relied on Splunk Enterprise to assess the optimal placement of individual tiles to maximize user engagement.

Vantrix Selects Splunk Inc.'s Hunk to Enhance Customer Experience

Splunk Inc. announced that Vantrix relies on Hunk: Splunk Analytics for Hadoop and NoSQL Data Stores to quickly search, explore and analyze billions of machine data events stored in Hadoop. Vantrix Media Platform has now leveraged Hunk software to create enhanced mobile data analytics for its global mobile service provider customers. These new offerings have generated new revenue streams for Vantrix. Vantrix customers on average serve more than 10 million subscribers that generate 26 million video data session records per day and store billions of accumulated video data session records. Using Hunk, Vantrix Media Platform can easily search through all this data stored in Hadoop in seconds. Users can explore, analyze and visualize the data to provide rich insights into network traffic and quality of experience as well as usage behaviors, patterns and trends. With Hunk, Vantrix enables service providers to identify specific reasons for poor video streaming performance on a mobile network. The company can alert social media sites, for instance, that sluggish video performance is due to the usage of non-optimum video encoding rates for a given mobile network. These discoveries have led to new market partnerships that continue to improve user experiences.
