Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Receives Order from United Parcel Service for Natural-Gas Fuel System

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide (QTWW) has received an order from United Parcel Service (UPS) for 319 natural-gas fuel systems for UPS' heavy-duty CNG vehicle program. The delivery dates under this award are scheduled to begin in mid-2015 and will include the recently released versions of Quantum's Q-CabLITE and Q-RailLITE storage systems, as well as delivery in the September time-frame of a version of Quantum's soon to be released next-generation, back-of-cab storage system.

Quantum Technologies Receives Follow-On Order for its Q-CabLITE™ Natural Gas Storage System from Dillon Transport

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. announced it has received another follow-on order for its fully-integrated Q-CabLITE CNG storage system from Dillon Transport. Quantum's Q-CabLITE fuel system includes its industry leading, light-weight Q-Lite® CNG storage tanks. The current spread between diesel and CNG still justifies adoption and it remains steadfast in moving these solutions throughout its fleet operations and into the market.

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. Total revenues of $12,999,850 against $12,720,232 a year ago. Operating loss was $3,628,326 against operating income of $471,270 a year ago. Loss from continuing operations before income taxes was $4,005,031 against $5,836,524 a year ago. Loss from continuing operations was $4,005,031 or $0.17 per share basic and diluted against $5,836,524 or $0.33 per share basic and diluted a year ago. Net loss was $4,287,205 or $0.18 per share basic and diluted against $6,043,946 or $0.34 per share basic and diluted a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was $2,747,245 against $3,144,195 a year ago. For the year, the company reported total revenues of $34,102,994 against $31,903,690 a year ago. Operating loss was $12,715,768 against $6,736,905 a year ago. Loss from continuing operations before income taxes was $14,484,270 against $20,017,938 a year ago. Loss from continuing operations was $14,485,870 or $0.65 per share basic and diluted against $20,019,538 or $1.37 per share basic and diluted a year ago. Net loss was $14,293,604 or 0.67 per share basic and diluted against $23,044,566 or $1.57 per share basic and diluted a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was $16,163,237 against $10,149,486 a year ago. The company incurred about $6 million roughly in CapEx in 2014. For the year 2015, the company expects revenues to be 40% to 50% higher than 2014. The company expects to realize product gross margins north of 20% in the future once the company established more mature supply chains, further refine manufacturing process and achieve higher volume levels. The company expect's capital expenditure it to be less than, even half, of that for 2015.

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. announced that a nationally recognized manufacturer of heavy-duty utility and service trucks placed an order for Quantum's Q-Lite compressed natural gas storage tanks. Quantum's Q-Lite advanced fuel storage tanks and systems maximize a vehicle's range due to reduced weight, increased natural gas capacity and performance. The Q-Lite proprietary technology allows light, medium and heavy duty trucks to optimize fuel storage capacity and take advantage of weight savings.
