The company registered 100,134 passenger cars in the EU in December alone, marking a 2.5% year-on-year rise. Peugeot sold 58,661 passenger cars, an 8.1% yearly increase, and lifted its market share to 6.2% from 6% in December 2013.

PSA Peugeot-Citroen announced sales results for 2014. For the period, the company reported an increase in global demand for its light vehicles rise by 4.3% year on year. Sales of fully built units during the year have grown from 2,817,576 units to 2,938,372 units. The numbers of completely knocked down (CKD) kits falling by slightly over 50% has made little difference to this overall tally.

Peugeot Launches New 508 Sedan in China

Peugeot has launched its new 508 sedan in China. The model is to be priced from CNY 173,700 to CNY 269,000. It is produced in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture, alongside the Citroen C5. The vehicle is available with a choice of three four-cylinder petrol engines, a 2.0 that produces 147hp and 200nm coupled with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, a 1.6 turbo that produces 167hp and 245nm coupled with a six-speed automatic and a 1.8 turbo that produces 204hp and 280nm coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission.

PSA Peugeot Citroen SA announced sales results for the month and year ended December 2014. The company registered a 9.6% yearly drop in sales of new passenger cars in France for December 2014. The Peugeot brand registered 25,487 passenger cars in December, up 2.8% year-on-year, while sales of Citroen plunged 21.6% to 14,830. For the year 2014, the group's new passenger car registrations on the domestic market climbed 1.6% on the year bringing a 29.85% share of the market. The group's sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles fell an annual 5.3% in December and increased 1.3% in 2014. Peugeot boosted sales by 4% in both periods, while Citroen's sales dipped 13.5% in December and rose 2.5% in 2014.
