NH Foods Limited reported consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and first nine months ended Dec. 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported operating income of ¥43,959 million and net income attributable to the company of ¥15,726 million or ¥141.86 per diluted share on net sales of ¥345,174 million against operating income of ¥29,799 million and net income attributable to the company of ¥11,536 million or ¥86.24 per diluted share on net sales of ¥315,343 million for the same period of last year. Income before income taxes and equity in earnings of associated companies was ¥21,922 million against ¥17,585 million for the same period of last year. For the nine months, the company reported operating income of ¥43,959 million and net income attributable to the company of ¥30,793 million or ¥141.86 per diluted share on net sales of ¥932,797 million against operating income of ¥29,799 million and net income attributable to the company of ¥19,156 million or ¥86.24 per diluted share on net sales of ¥861,534 million for the same period of last year. Income before income taxes and equity in earnings of associated companies was ¥42,869 million against ¥28,274 million for the same period of last year. Net cash used in operating activities was ¥14,756 million against ¥9,336 million for the same period of last year. Capital expenditures were ¥27,117 million against ¥16,382 million for the same period of last year. For the year ending March 31, 2015, the company forecasts to pay a dividend of ¥35.00 per share. For the year ending March 31, 2015, the company now, forecasts operating income of ¥46,000 million, income before income taxes and equity in earnings of associated companies of ¥42,500 million and net income attributable to the company of ¥30,000 million or ¥147.29 per diluted share on net sales of ¥1,200,000 million against previously forecasted operating income of ¥43,000 million, income before income taxes and equity in earnings of associated companies of ¥38,000 million and net income attributable to the company of ¥26,000 million or ¥127.65 per diluted share on net sales of ¥1,160,000 million.

NH Foods Seeks Acquisitions

NH Foods Limited (TSE:2282) is seeking acquisitions. NH Foods Limited (TSE:2282) will build a roughly ¥30 billion war chest for acquisitions as part of its medium-term management plan through fiscal 2017, President Noboru Takezoe told The Nikkei. NH Foods will seek to buy meat production and processing companies in Asia and the United States to tap growing meat demand worldwide. "There's a limit to the growth we can achieve on our own," Takezoe said, "In order to hit the world stage in a big way, I'd like to steadily implement [acquisitions] in the next plan." As for capital investment, the current three-year plan allotted ¥100 billion. The new plan will allocate "the same or slightly more," according to Takezoe.
