Mosaic to Invest $10 Million to Upgrade the Fertilizer Production Unit at Catalao

Mosaic will invest $10 million to upgrade its fertilizer production unit at Catalao in the central Brazilian state of Goias. The funds will be used to improve the unit's loading system, storage facilities, blending equipment, instrumentation and control panels. The overhaul, which is expected to be completed by 2016, is part of Mosaic's wider expansion plans in Brazil, and follows its acquisition of Archer Daniels Midland's (ADM) fertilizer distribution business in Brazil and Paraguay in December.

The Mosaic Company announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported total net sales of $2,379 million against $2,182 million a year ago. Net income was $361 million or $0.97 per diluted share against $129 million or $0.30 per diluted share a year ago. EBITDA was $565 million against $351 million a year ago. Net debt was $1,458 million against negative $2,261 million a year ago. Cash flows from operations were $382 million against $503 million a year ago.
The Mosaic Company Seeks Acquisitions

The Mosaic Company (NYSE:MOS) will consider acquisitions. Mosaic is interested in buying Brazilian phosphate producers if they come up for sale, Chief Executive Jim Prokopanko said. "There are a couple good producers in Brazil," Prokopanko said at a BMO Capital Markets investor conference in Florida. "They may come up for sale. We would be interested in those."
