Southwest Airlines Co. reported traffic results for the month and year to date ended February 2015. For the month, the reported revenue passenger miles of 7,860,395,000 compared to revenue passenger miles of 7,538,702,000 for the same period a year ago. Available seat miles (ASM’s) 9,474,563,000 compared to 9,148,333,000 last year, increased by 3.6%. Load factor was 79.9% compared with 78.1% last year. Average length of haul was 963 compared to 948 last year. Trips flown were 88,038 compared to 90,946 last year. For February 2015, passenger revenue per ASM (PRASM) is estimated to have increased approximately 1.0%, compared with February 2014.
For the year to date, the company reported revenue passenger miles of 16,073,961,000 compared to revenue passenger miles of 15,249,200,000 for the same period a year ago. Available seat miles (ASM’s) 20,183,856,000 compared to 18,869,804,000 last year. Load factor was 77.4% compared with 77.2% last year. Average length of haul was 972 compared to 955 last year. Trips flown were 187,807 compared to 188,500 last year.
Southwest Airlines Launches Service to Central America and Flies New Caribbean Route from Texas

Southwest Airlines inaugurated two international routes that brought new long-haul service for Customers using two of the carrier's growing gateways, Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and William P. Hobby Airport in Houston. Each of the new routes is longer than 2,000 miles each-way and marks historic milestones for the carrier both by connecting Central America to the Southwest network of destinations and by offering its longest-ever nonstop scheduled service from any of Southwest'sTexas Triangle of original cities of Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston.
Southwest Airlines to Start Daily Nonstop Flight to Dallas Love Field from Pittsburgh International Airport

Southwest Airlines announced that it is starting a daily nonstop flight to Dallas Love Field from Pittsburgh International Airport on Aug. 9, 2015. It will be the second airline to offer nonstop service to the Texas city. By March, Southwest will operate an average of 30 flights a day from here, second in daily flight to US Airways.
Southwest Airlines Announces Nonstop Service Between Dallas (Love Field) and New Cities

Southwest Airlines published 16 additional flights, including service to eight new nonstop cities, from Dallas Love Field. The new service is available for purchase immediately, at low fares as shown below, and will begin Aug. 9, 2015. With this latest service enhancement, Southwest will offer a total of 180 weekday departures to 50 nonstop destinations from Dallas Love Field. Beginning Aug. 9, 2015, enjoy once-daily, nonstop service between Dallas (Love Field) and: Boston Logan; Charlotte; Detroit; Omaha; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Raleigh/Durham; Salt Lake City. Also on August 9, Southwest will offer additional nonstop service between Dallas and Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore/Washington, Houston (Hobby), Little Rock, Chicago (Midway), and Seattle /Tacoma. Finally, Southwest will upgrade the Saturday-only nonstop service between Dallas and Charleston, South Carolina, that is scheduled to begin April 11, 2015, to daily service on August 9.
