Seven Reportedly Express Interest In Clal Insurance

According to sources, seven foreign entities expressed initial interest in two weeks since the information room for the sale of Clal Insurance Enterprises Holdings Ltd. (TASE:CLIS) was opened. The potential bidders, mostly private equity funds and entities from China, have signed a confidentiality agreement. The next stage in the proceedings for the sale of controlling stake currently owned by IDB Development Corporation Limited will take place in mid-July when the non-binding bids will be submitted. CVC Capital Partners Limited, Warburg Pincus LLC, XIO Group, China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (SEHK:2628), Cheyne Capital Management (UK) LLP, Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC and JT Capital Management Ltd. Aon Benfield and Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) are leading the sale and the deadline for submitting non-binding bids is mid-July.
