Korea Electric Power Corp. reported unaudited revenue results for the month of and year to date ended February 2015. For the month, the company reported revenue from the sale of electricity of KRW 4,909 billion against KRW 4,882 billion for the same period a year ago. For the year to date, the company reported revenue from the sale of electricity of KRW 10,215 billion against KRW 9,959 billion for the same period a year ago.

GMR Infrastructure Limited Mulls Sale Of Assets

GMR Infrastructure Limited (BSE:532754) is seeking to assets to Investors. “GMR Infrastructure plans to raise INR 40 billion over the next one year through divestment of assets and share sale to reduce debt and ease cash flow,” Madhu Terdal, Chief Financial Officer of GMR Infrastructure Limited told Economic Times. "Our aim is to raise about INR 40 billion in the next 12 months to reduce debt," Madhu Terdal said. "We have 3-4 due diligence going on right now. There are simultaneous talks happening for asset, subholding, and even at the listed company level. We will be able to raise not less than INR 20 Billion in energy business and another INR 15 billion to 20 billion at group level," Madhu Terdal said. It is speculated that international energy majors like Sembcorp Industries Ltd (SGX:U96) and Korea Electric Power Corp. (KOSE:A015760) have had talks with the company to acquire its 1,050 MW plant at Kamalanga in Orissa.

Korea Electric Power Corp. Reports Consolidated and Non-Consolidated Earnings Results for the Year Ended December 31, 2014

Korea Electric Power Corp. reported consolidated and non-consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2014. For the year, on consolidated basis, the company reported sales of KRW 57,474,883 million against KRW 54,037,795 million a year ago. Operating profit was KRW 5,787,565 million against KRW 1,518,965 million a year ago. Profit before income tax was KRW 4,229,306 million against loss before income tax of KRW 396,488 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the company was KRW 2,686,873 million or KRW 4,290 per basic and diluted share against KRW 60,011 million or KRW 96 per basic and diluted share a year ago. For the year, on non-consolidated basis, the company reported sales of KRW 57,334,440 million against KRW 53,692,406 million a year ago. Operating profit was KRW 1,673,708 million against KRW 262,995 million a year ago. Profit before income tax was KRW 1,261,763 million against loss before income tax of KRW 243,922 million a year ago. Profit for the period was KRW 1,039,887 million or KRW 1,660 per basic and diluted share against KRW 238,307 million or KRW 382 per basic and diluted share a year ago.

KEPCO Plans 300-MW Cebu Coal-Fired Plant

THE LOCAL UNIT of Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) is planning to build a 300-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Cebu in a bid to further expand its presence in the local power sector. The project will be done with SPC on a 60-40 ownership basis, with the bigger share going to the local firm. It will be located in Cebu province's Naga City, where the two companies - through KEPCO SPC Power Corp. - already operate a 200-MW coal facility. The existing facility, which began operations in 2011, was built under a build-operate-own agreement with the government.
