Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. Receives Contract from New Jersey Turnpike Authority to Provide Supervision of Construction Services on the NJ Turnpike

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that it was awarded a contract from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (Authority) to provide resident engineering and construction inspection services for roadwide guide sign improvements on the New Jersey Turnpike. Officials estimate the construction value to be $26 million. Construction began July 2015 with substantial completion anticipated for the fall of 2017. This project is being implemented as part the Authority's 10-year capital investment program. The primary purpose is to replace and/or upgrade the roadway signs and sign legends to be consistent with the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is providing supervision of construction for Construction Contract No. T600.319, roadwide guide sign improvements on the New Jersey Turnpike including replacement of existing guide sign panels; fabrication and installation of new sign structures; removal of existing sign structures; relocation of existing cantilever sign structures at new locations; constructing foundations for new and relocated structures; sign lighting work; installation of roadway safety features; and associated maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) work. This project also includes fabrication and installation of a new VMS structure on the Turnpike; reconnecting signs and ITS devises to the existing system; and testing and final commissioning.

The company said it was selected by ExxonMobil (XOM) to perform engineering, procurement and construction management services for its Crude Flexibility Engineering and Construction Project at the ExxonMobil Refinery in Beaumont, Texas. The project aims to expand crude oil throughput at ExxonMobil's Beaumont refinery, increase production in the jet fuel unit, and optimize energy usage by enabling the crude unit to run different crude slates. Jacobs also won a contract for the Jimah East Power project in Malaysia, which involves building two units of 1,000MW power plant. Jacobs' role includes the detailed civil and structural design for the balance of plant (BOP) facilities and for the cooling water intake and discharge system.

Jacobs Wins Contracts for Jimah East Power Project in Malaysia

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced it has been awarded two contracts by Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd. (HEC) to provide engineering services for the balance of plant facilities and the cooling water intake and discharge system respectively for a 2,000MW ultra-super-critical, coal-fired power generation project in Port Dickson, about 60 kilometers south of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The Jimah East Power project involves building two units of 1,000MW power plant. Most notably, the plants are expected to be highly efficient and environmentally friendly by minimizing greenhouse gas emissions with ultra-super-critical pressure generation. Jacobs' role includes the detailed civil and structural design for the balance of plant (BOP) facilities and for the cooling water intake and discharge system. The civil scope comprises bulk earthworks, storm water drainage, underground sewer utilities, fencing and coordination of various underground services, while the structural scope covers foundation design for all BOP components and design for the cooling water intake and discharge system components. Services also include geotechnical design and local authority submissions, as well as construction phase services. The project is expected to be commissioned in two stages, circa 2018 and 2019.
