Jabil Circuit, Inc. to Expand Operations in Penang, Malaysia

Jabil Circuit Inc. has secured approval from the Penang State government in Malaysia to purchase 20 acres of land at the Batu Kawan Industrial Park to support expansion plans. The agreement was officially signed now in a ceremony involving representatives from Jabil, led by Mr. Ong Kay Chong, Senior Vice President, Operations, Electronic Manufacturing Services and Mr. Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister of the state of Penang. The new site will focus on manufacturing products for the Enterprise, Industrial, Medical and Aerospace sectors. Jabil plans to further develop the Jabil Penang facility to support the company's growth strategy in the region. Jabil cited a wide range of reasons for selecting Penang to expand its Malaysia operations, including the local availability of highly skilled talent; the mature local supply chain, which boasts around 3,000 well-developed suppliers from a variety of sectors; and the region's excellent utility services. The agreement, which entitles Jabil to purchase a further 20 acres of land in the future, will provide the company with a total build-up area of one million square feet. Construction on the new facilities is expected to start in the second half of 2016.

The innovative new solutions will provide vending machine manufacturers with shorter time to market. The Intel Architecture processor-based design, which the company will produce, is a flexible and cost-effective solution that combines all vending machine functions onto a single platform. Intelligent vending equipment manufacturers can purchase an Intel-designed platform from Jabil or request Jabil to build a customized version of this platform. Jabil Circuit Inc. announced the opening of its Blue Sky Center in San Jose, California. Strategically located in the Silicon Valley, the 100,000-square-foot facility features the company’s intelligent digital supply chain toolset, called Jabil inControl, factory-of-the-future technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) and rapid prototyping labs, as well as access to advanced capabilities for increasing customer collaboration and product innovation. The Blue Sky Center features a supply chain command center powered by Jabil inControl, the company’s proprietary system. Jabil’s Blue Sky Center highlights a factory-of-the-future lab to demonstrate and test automation scenarios in response to rapid technology disruption and customer personalization demand while addressing ad hoc labor, energy and material variation challenges. In this lab, robots with increased dexterity and enhanced sensing perform highly tactile processes. Gigamon Inc. and Jabil Circuit, Inc. Enters into Manufacturing Services Agreement

On April 20, 2015, Gigamon Inc. and Jabil Circuit Inc. entered into a manufacturing services agreement (the Agreement"), which amends and restates the previous manufacturing services agreement dated April 29, 2013 between the Company and Jabil, pursuant to which Jabil will continue to manufacture, test, configure, assemble, package and ship the company's products. The term of the Agreement is for two years commencing on April 20, 2015 and will automatically renew for additional one-year terms, unless terminated by either party by giving written notice of non-renewal at least six months before the end of the then-current term. In addition, the Agreement may be terminated upon the mutual written consent of both parties, for convenience upon nine months written notice by Jabil or six months written notice by the Company, for cause upon written notice of a material breach and if the other party does not cure such breach within 30 days of such notice, immediately upon the bankruptcy or insolvency of the other party, or upon a change of control of either party, subject to applicable notice periods.
