Cap Gemini S.A. (ENXTPA:CAP) is said to have nearly sealed the transaction to acquire iGATE Corporation (NasdaqGS:IGTE) from Apax Partners LLP, as per a report. Atos SE (ENXTPA:ATO) and Genpact Limited (NYSE:G) had also held deals to acquire iGATE. Capgemini is seeking to buy the 54% stake held by the promoters and Apax which holds 29% stake in iGate, initially and may later take iGate private by buying out the shares of other shareholders, according to the report.

Apax In Talks To Sell Its Stake In iGATE

Largest shareholder of iGATE Corporation (NasdaqGS:IGTE), Apax Partners LLP has indicated that it would look to liquidate its stake in the firm, and the US-listed company's founders -Sunil Wadhwani and Asholk Trivedi -have pared their holding in the company, documents filed with the US regulator show. In November, iGate announced that it had struck a deal with Apax to convert the debt to equity and would pay the private equity firm $80 million to effect the conversion. "The registration statement relates to the registration and possible resale of up to 23.4 million shares of our common stock by funds advised by Viscaria Limited., a company backed by funds collectively referred to as Apax Partners," the registration statement, filed with the SEC in December stated.
