Intercontinental Hotel Group's Hotel Indigo Opens in Downtown Newark

InterContinental Hotel Group's Hotel Indigo opened in Downtown Newark. The 108-room branded boutique hotel is the re-creation and re-purposing of the National State Bank building located at 810 Broad Street. The Hotel Indigo Downtown Newark, which began welcoming guests this past December, is a joint venture with local developers Samer and Thafer Hanini of the Hanini Group and Islam Zughayer. The property is managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts and is franchised by an affiliate of IHG.
Intercontinental Hotels Signs New Crowne Plaza Hotel In Midtown New York City

Intercontinental Hotels Group plc announced the signing of a 251-room Crowne Plaza hotel in the heart of New York City.
The new development aligns with IHG's strategy to grow the Crowne Plaza brand by further strengthening its presence in top-tier business epicenters and priority markets across the Americas. The property is scheduled to open in 2017, and IHG will manage on behalf of the owner, LRR Holdings, LLC.
InterContinental Hotels Group Signs Agreement with Kalis Group for New Crowne Plaza Hotel in Australia

InterContinental Hotels Group has entered into a management agreement with hospitality firm The Kalis Group for a new Crowne Plaza hotel in Hobart, Australia. Featuring 187 rooms, the Crowne Plaza Hobart will be part of the mixed-use property ICON Complex being developed by Kalis Group. The new property will include business and meetings facilities, including a ballroom, meeting rooms, boardroom and 24-hour business centre. Crowne Plaza Hobart will also feature all-day-dining restaurant, bar and fully equipped fitness centre.

InterContinental Hotels Group PLC announced that Dale Morrison, the senior independent non-executive director of IHG, has been appointed to the remuneration committee of the board, and has stood down from the corporate responsibility committee of the board. As a consequence, Jill McDonald, a Non-Executive Director of IHG, has been appointed to the corporate responsibility committee of the board. All of the changes referred to above were effective from 19 March 2015.

InterContinental Hotels Group has brought its boutique hotel brand, Hotel Indigo, to Southeast Asia with the opening of Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road. The 192-room Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road is refreshingly local in design, incorporating the best of its surrounding neighbourhood into the hotel. This includes vertical gardens to reflect Bangkok's iconic Lumpini Park, street art style murals and custom art pieces of wireless radios reflecting the area's history as the birthplace of the country's wireless radio stations.
