Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Announces NTT DOCOMO, Inc. as Operator to Adopt New Qualcomm Snapdragon Sense ID Biometrics Platform
May 26 15
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced that NTT DOCOMO INC., is the first operator to adopt and implement the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics platform. The platform, which is currently supported in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, is being utilized alongside third-party biometric sensors for DOCOMO's mobile biometric authentication service starting on May 27, 2015 in Japan. The Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics platform consists of QTI's secure authentication framework and QTI's certified implementation of the FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) Alliance Universal Authentication Framework (UAF) protocol. The authentication framework provides secure processing and storage of biometric data, whereas QTI's UAF implementation provides secure authentication and connection among FIDO-enabled devices and services. This platform is managed by Qualcomm SecureMSM technology, which is the security foundation for devices powered by Snapdragon processors, providing a high level of security and robustness while achieving a balance of high performance and optimal power efficiency. The Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics platform supports the ultimate in convenient mobile authentication and biometrics.
Fujitsu's Announces Release of ARROWS NX F-04G Smartphone
May 25 15
Fujitsu announced that ARROWS NX F-04G smartphone will be available from NTT DOCOMO retailers throughout Japan starting May 28, 2015. The ARROWS NX F-04G was developed with the concept of a quick and easy user experience. Most notably, this is the smartphone to be equipped with Iris Passport, iris authentication technology, which allows the screen to be unlocked with a mere 0.6-second glance, and eliminates the need for inputting passwords or patterns. When used with the password manager, websites that require a password can also be automatically accessed by simply looking at the screen, eliminating the worry of
forgetting passwords. It also has other features that add to a more enjoyable smartphone experience, including a high-speed autofocus camera that can capture precious scenes without missing a single moment. In addition, ARROWS NX F-04G offers a collection of cutting-edge technologies, such as high speed downloads and
TransferJet, which enables large volume data transfer by simply holding the device near another terminal. Product features: Iris Passport, the iris authentication for smartphones, unlocks the device and allows web login by simply looking at the screen Iris authentication is a biometric authentication system that uses the pattern
of the iris in the human eye. The iris finishes development when an individual is around two years old, and has the advantages of being permanent, hard to injure externally, and difficult to forge. In addition to unlocking the screen, when used with the password manager, iris authentication also allows easy ID confirmation on membership websites and payment services by linking them to iris information. While maintaining the security level of previous smartphones, unlocking screens, logging into websites, and paying online have been made more convenient, which allows for stress-free usage. In addition, iris data is secure in that it is stored internally within the smartphone and cannot be exported. Beautiful photos with an advanced high-speed autofocus that captures every momentt. Through Fujitsu's proprietary technology, a high-speed autofocus that requires approximately half the time of previous model ARROWS NX F-05F has been developed. This allows the camera to focus on the subject at higher speeds and with higher accuracy, enabling instantaneous focusing by simply holding up the device. In addition, the device is equipped with Exmor RS for mobile, a 1/2.4-type CMOS image sensor with approximately 21.5 million pixels, which allows for the taking of even more beautiful photos. Support for PREMIUM 4G & Wi-Fi MIMO, and ARROWS's high-speed downloading & multi-connections for fast transmissions The combination of two technologies enables high-speed, uninterrupted downloads. One is high-speed downloading technology that instantly cuts download times by increasing the requests for the number of sessions that pass through the server. The other, multi-connection, enables seamless switching to LTE or 3G should a Wi-Fi signal temporarily become unstable. In addition, support for PREMIUM 4G and Wi-Fi MIMO allows for even faster transmissions. TransferJet is deployed to instantly share precious memories. This is the first smartphone to be equipped with TransferJet, a technology for wireless transmission between devices in close proximity. Due to extremely high-speed transmission with maximum effective transfer speed of 375Mbps, massive amounts of data such as videos and photos can be transferred between ARROWS NX F-04G devices without any prior setting adjustments, simply by positioning the smartphones close together. Sharing videos and photos between friends has never been easier.
