G.W. Melgaard has announced his retirement as market president at Dacotah Bank in Minot effective at the end of June. Ryan Hertz, business banker, has been promoted to market president and will assume Melgaard’s duties. Hertz is a board member and past president of the Minot State Alumni Association.

Dacotah Bank Opens Business at the New Building in Jamestown

Dacotah Bank in Jamestown is open for business at the new building, 2510 8th Ave SW. The new facility features five teller positions and three drive-up lanes. The 9,000 square-foot building was designed by HTG Architects, with offices in Bismarck, N.D. and Minneapolis. The banks lobby hours in Jamestown are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday. The drive-up is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Dacotah Bank Announces Executive Appointments

Dacotah Bank has expanded services with two new trust bankers. Rosanne Krier and Mark Sivertson will serve trust and wealth management clients in the Sioux Falls market from the Phillips Centre location at 300 South Phillips Avenue. Sivertson and Krier will be involved in investment management, trust administration, financial and estate planning, IRA accounts and South Dakota-directed trusts. Krier, a Certified Trust Financial Advisor, started working in trust financial services in 1996 after a time in the insurance industry. Her most recent employment was at Great Western Bank in Sioux Falls as vice president of wealth administration. She is currently on the Sioux Falls Estate Planning Council and works with Special Olympics and New Directions Down Syndrome Association of Sioux Falls. Sivertson has been in trust and wealth management for over 30 years. Most recently he was senior vice president of trust services and wealth management at Great Western Bank in Sioux Falls.

Dacotah Banks, Inc. and Dacotah Bank Announces Management Changes

Dacotah Bank has announced several management changes as of the first of 2015. Rodney Fouberg retired as chairman of Dacotah Banks, Inc. and Dacotah Bank, but will continue to serve as a member of both boards of directors. Richard Westra assumed the chairmanship of both boards of directors. Joe Senger became president and CEO of Dacotah Banks, Inc. and Dacotah Bank and serves on both boards of directors. Robert Fouberg became executive vice president, and remains general counsel, of Dacotah Banks, Inc. and Dacotah Bank. Rodney Fouberg joined the company in 1967 and served in various roles before becoming chairman and CEO in 1984. He serves or has served on the boards of directors of a number of charitable and economic development organizations and served one term as a member of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Richard Westra joined the company in 1973 and served in various roles before becoming president and CEO of Dacotah Bank in 1980 and adding the role of president and CEO of Dacotah Banks, Inc. in 2007. Westra also serves or has served on the boards of directors of a number of charitable and economic development organizations, served one term as a member of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and five terms on the South Dakota Banking Commission. Joe Senger joined the company in 2002 following 26 years of service with other organizations in the banking and financial services industry. He served first as senior vice president of credit administration and then executive vice president since 2010. Robert Fouberg joined the company in 2003 following service as a private practice attorney, legislative counsel to Representative John Thune and senior counsel at the American Bankers Association. He served first as a commercial lender, vice president and counsel, and then senior vice president and general counsel since 2008.

Dacotah Bank Appoints Bryan K. Phillips as Director of Information Security

Bryan K. Phillips has been named Director of Information Security at Dacotah Bank. He will oversee the information security framework and information security programs. Phillips is an Aberdeen native with over 20 years of technology experience. He has worked for various companies in internet and technology, technology value-added reseller, education finance, and health care.
