Barclays PLC Proposes Auditor Changes for the Year Ending 31 December 2017

Barclays PLC announced its intention to appoint KPMG as its auditor for the year ending 31 December 2017. This follows a competitive tender process overseen by an Audit Tender Oversight Sub-committee of the Barclays' Board Audit Committee, resulting in a recommendation which was approved by the Barclays Board. PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Barclays' current auditor, will continue in their role and will undertake the audit of Barclays until the year ending 31 December 2016, subject to reappointment by shareholders at the respective Annual General Meetings. The appointment of KPMG will be recommended to Barclays' shareholders for approval at the 2017 Annual General Meeting.
Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre and Barclays Signs Memorandum of Understanding

Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) and Barclays have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in a bid to expand cooperation in combating cybercrime that impacts the financial sector specifically. This MoU affords the possibility for Europol and Barclays to exchange strategic information, information on trends, expertise and statistical data.
Barclays to Launch bPay Wearable Devices

Barclays announced that the company is launching new wearable contactless payment devices, reports The Guardian. Barclays introduced payment wristbands in 2014 and is now launching an updated wristband, key fobs and stickers which can be attacked to any flat surface. The bPay devices are available to buy online or through High Street stores such as Snow + Rock, CycleSurgery and Runners Need from July. They can be used by anyone with a UK-registered MasterCard or Visa debit/credit card.
Barclays Appoints Richard Fisher as Senior Advisor, Effective July 1, 2015

Barclays announced the appointment of Richard Fisher, former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, as a Senior Advisor, effective July 1, 2015. Mr. Fisher served as President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas from April 2005 to March 2015. Mr. Fisher currently serves on the Boards of PepsiCo and AT&T.
