America Movil May Sell TracFone

America Movil S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV:AMX L) is planning to sell TracFone Wireless, Inc. and may get good offers for it from local competitors, Mexican daily El Financiero said on February 11, 2015. "We are open to everything, to both selling or keeping the company, Daniel Hajj, Chief Executive Officer of America Movil was quoted as saying. However, the chief executive ruled out the possibility of creating their own network in the US to gain a competitive edge against other sector players as this would be too expensive.

América Móvil reported consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2014. For the fourth quarter, the company posted a 77.8% year-on-year drop in net profit, due to depreciation of the mexican peso and a significant increase in financing costs. Total net income reached MXN 3.61 billion a steep decline from the MXN 16.286 billion reported in 2013. Revenue totaled MXN 229.3 billion a 2.7% increase year-on-year. The increase was consistent with revenue growth for the year, which reached MXN 883.8 billion. EBITDA totaled MXN 67.7 billion. Net profit was equivalent to MXN 0.05 per share or MXN 0.08 per ADR. Capital expenditures was MXN 68 billion.
For the full year, the company reported revenue of MXN 883.8 billion. EBITDA was MXN 279.2 billion. Net debt for the year was MXN 533 billion, up from MXN 518 billion a year before. The company funded capital expenditures in the amount of MXN 149.7 billion.
For 2015, the company expects around MXN 10 billion on CapEx, 5% less, 5% more depending also on frequencies, depending a lot on the economies of the countries, depending a lot on the growth.

Chief Executive Officer, Randall Stephenson, played down suggestions that AT&T is going to acquire any of the assets that America Movil is being forced to divest, saying it already has enough firepower to “compete aggressively and take share,” reports the Financial Times
Carlos Slim Is Reportedly Planning To Buy A Stake In Xfera

Carlos Slim, owner of America Movil S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV:AMX L), is reportedly planning to expand into the Spanish telecoms market by acquiring a controlling stake in Xfera Móviles, S.A. (Yoigo), Hispanidad reports. Yoigo is majority owned by TeliaSonera Aktiebolag (publ) (OM:TLSN). Previously, America Movil was said to be interested in bidding for Yoigo in 2012 but TeliaSonera dropped plans to sell its Spanish unit due to a disappointing market response.
