Accor To Reportedly Spin off 80 Hotels
Sep 27 15
Accor S.A. (ENXTPA:AC) is looking to spin off a portfolio of around 80 hotels into a new unit with outside investors in an apparent reversal from its strategy of increasing ownership in its properties, as per local media reports. Third-party investors would capitalize the new entity in which Accor would not have a controlling stake, although the unit would be headed by a manager from the group, Les Echos newspaper reported. Accor wants to deconsolidate the 80 or so European hotels, of which around 60 are in France, half of them part of the group's Ibis economy range. Under the new strategy Accor, as it was then known, was divided into two which are Hotel Invest, a yield-oriented hotel owner and investor, and Hotel Services, a fee-oriented hotel operator and brand franchisor.

AccorHotels to Open Two Hotels in Iran
Sep 14 15
AccorHotels announced it will become the first international hotel group to operate in Iran as the Islamic Republic opens up to the West following the deal on its nuclear programme. AccorHotels will open an Ibis hotel and a Novotel branch near Tehran's international airport. The move comes just two months after the historic nuclear accord which the West says is aimed at preventing Iran from building a nuclear bomb. The hotel contracts will be signed by AccorHotels' chief executive Sebastien Bazin with representatives of Iranian company Aria Ziggurat, which owns the buildings. The hotels are scheduled to open for business on October 15, with a total of nearly 500 rooms. Aimed at both international and Iranian business travellers, they will be equipped with meeting rooms, conference spaces and spas, fitness suites and swimming pools.
