Foreign trade statistics refer to transactions involving movements of goods out of or into the Kingdom of Thailand over a specific time period. The figures cover all categories of goods that enter or leave the Kingdom of Thailand and pass through customs formalities at any of the Customs Houses and representative offices, either via land, sea or air transport. The data also include postal packages but do not include smuggled goods and products procured on carriers at sea. Bank of Thailand obtains electronic copy of the data and tabulates them into export and import tables, classified in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC). Value of exports and imports is based on Baht equivalent figures as announced by the Customs. Note: Foreign Trade - Imports. Numbers includes, Thai military imports, electricity imports and other imports which are not under the Customs Department's statistic coverage. And also including merchandise imports in balance of payments coverage adjustment such as diplomatic shipments, personal effects, temporary imports, etc. *For the Customs Dept numbers, pls refer to THCT Index BOT have changed the unit from mil of Baht to mil of US$ since January 1998. All values before January 1998 are converted from Baht to US$ by monthly average of USD/THB exchange rate. Unit: In Millions of US$. Time Lag: 1 month late in updating the figure.
