From May 2005 the Spanish unemployment is published with the new SISPE methodology, and all back history has been adjusted to this new methodology. Numbers before May 2005 can be found on ALLX SPUX . All figures are non seasonally adjusted. Statistics are based on the total number of outstanding job applications registered by INEM on the last day of each month. Certain categories of job applicants are not included in the figures, as laid out by a Ministerial Decree on March 11 1985, and published in the Boletin Oficial del Estado on March 14 1985. These categories include full-time students, pensioners and those of pensionable age, those seeking part time work (with a working week of under 20 hours), those seeking short-term contracts (under 3 months), and those already employed who are seeking to change jobs or to take on an extra job.
