This index stores the daily cash rate disseminated by the Reserve Bank of Australia. For announcement dates, please refer to RBATCTR and further historical annouced cash rates, please refer to RBACTR Index. Note: Prior to 1990, the RBA did not announce a Cash Target Rate, although there was some targeting, and prior to mid 1980's the Cash Rate was NOT an instrument for monetary policy. Historical data prior to January 1990, is the unofficial 11 a.m. call rate. There are some data points in the 1980s which seem unsually high, but they're checked and verified as correct.
